A Great Phone.. HTC "The Dream"? Google Android Software

I like mobile phones, we all do right? I bet each and everyone has their own cellphone by now, especially on this generation of technology, electronics, the web and all kinds of communications. Some people not only have one, but two phones. Like me, I use one for calling and texting, and I have another phone mainly for receiving text messages from the Philippines using a "Roaming" sim card and a Quad Band phone. It can also be used for texting, but I use my first phone for that. I bet most Filipinos in the United States and other countries abroad does that too. I also use the web for texting, you can access a website that offers free texting like the service Chikka based in the Philippines.

Back to the main topic. A Great Phone. There has been a lot of added features on some new phones out on the market, and more features to come I bet on High-end phones or Smartphones. A Great Phone would basically have the following Specs:

Wi-fi capabilities
Large Internal Memory
Expandable Memory (using Memory Cards)
High Megapixel Camera, for Photos and Videos (about 5 Megapixel is good enough)
Flash for Camera
Large Screen Display
Symbian OS or Windows Mobile Operating System
TV Out
TV capable (local TV reception is good enough)
3.5 mm stereo headphone plug (I think this is the general size for all headphone jacks)
Stereo Speker
Radio
Bluetooth
USB capable
Pre-Installed Maps
Web Browsing
Email & IM
Touch Screen (a big plus)
Qwerty keyboard (also a plus, should be spacious)

Well, I guess that's most of it. That's not too much is it? of'course not. Most of these features are already on some new phones that are in the market today. But probably not all in one phone.

The closest one I've wanted was the Nokia N82. Its almost the same as the Nokia N95 but in a bar shape. It has most of the specs I've wrote, I wanted to get that phone, but the downside is i think it has no WiFi! And a WiFi is a must! So I though to myself, I'll just have to wait for a phone like that with WiFi and probably more.

Nokia N82

I recently liked the Blackberry phone, specifically the Blackrberry Curve 8300. Mainly Because of its QWERTY designed keyboard. I never did like a qwerty phone, but its like every time you see and hear about it its like you begin to like it, i dunno. I always see it on television and on the news, like its really popular mostly used by business men or lawyers as they say, but also used by almost everybody. And I like to have one now because I would like to use it for easy typing, like on making a draft about blogs or make notes, and it now has WiFi capabilities.

But I usually like Nokia phones because they are very User Friendly. I think that's their slogan. I've been using Nokia phones from my first ever mobile phone, and I loved their phones since then.

Then there was the iPhone! The most popular high-technology phone that was ever made, so far. But I don't think nothing will surpass this phone, i mean based on its style on using it. It's like a futuristic phone, well it is. Plus its basically a smartphone where you can add and install other types of applications, programs, games and a lot more.

Apple iPhone

But I have some things that I don't like on th iPhone. I'll put it in bullets so everyone can see, especially makers of new phones:

No Flash for Camera and No Video
No Text Forwarding
No Bluetooth sharing for files like photos
On-screen keyboard much better on landscape
Headphone plug does not fit most headphones jack
And most of all its LOCKED for one carrier only!

(Update: there are new available Apps for iPhone like Video Capture and Copy-Paste for forwarding and/or texting, and probably more to come.)

And Now The Breaking News! There has been a report of a new phone called "The Dream" powered by Google's Android Software on HTC phone. Which reports that it will match many capabilities of the iPhone and all other phones, and perform computer like functions.

"The high-end phone is expected to match many of the
capabilities of
Apple’s iPhone and other so-called smartphones that run software from Palm, Research in Motion, Microsoft and Nokia
to access the Internet and perform computerlike functions."

"The HTC phone, which many gadget sites are calling the “dream,” will have a touch screen, like the iPhone. But the screen also slides out to expose a full five-row keyboard. A video of the phone has been posted recently on YouTube. A person who has seen the HTC device said it matched the one in the video."

Well, is this the phone i've been waiting for? "The Dream", a great Phone? I hope so, and I hope it has everything I wanted in a phone, and I'll definite get one. But I know there will always be new and better phones that will be made, but this will probably be the closest one about "A Great Phone" (I think, because there are new upcoming phones based on the iPhone Technology).
